The Long Dress: A Must for Every Closet, I Confess!

With the Hollywood Academy Awards ceremony only days away, people the world over will be able to witness some of the most fabulous, designer floor length gowns as celebrities strut down the red carpet, decked out in pure fabric splendor. Eye candy entertainment!

The long dress is at its best at awards presentations, as generally females, when attending these ritzy events, are adorned in dresses that drape all the way to the ground! A flowing image of feminine dress dazzle!

A long dress is a garment where the hem stops around the ankle, or even flows to the ground. There are many categories of long dresses, some being ball gowns, bridesmaids dresses, evening gowns, maxi dresses, sun dresses and muumuus!

First I would merely like to display a few floor length gowns that would be fancy and provocative enough to be worn to the Academy Awards or to some major black tie dress up event, as they are indeed fun for the eyes to drink in!

Stunning, beautiful and glamorous!  Gorgeous gowns of grandeur!

Of course, with any of the dresses above, the only shoes that could be worn with this type of a dress that would do the garment any justice at all is a high heel  Although a closed toe pump would work, the best shoe to wear to walk around in sheer elegance would be an open toed, high heeled sandal shoe. Then wrap yourself in splendid jewels, and your look will be magnificent and amazing!

Every female closet should be home to one long dress. You never know when an event will come up where a floor length dress is a must, and you can spice up the dress with certain accessories, or play down the same dress by going simple on the jewelry and shoes.

Casual long dresses are comfortable and cute, all wrapped into one! These dresses are great for going to wedding showers or baby showers, a spring or summer brunch, or merely to wear during a fashion shopping excursion at the local mall!

With these simpler, yet just as spectacular long dresses, I think they look real pretty when worn with a flat sandal. It gives off a trendy yet classy look. Of course a heel would work also, but you would want to stay away from boots or sneakers if you are looking to send out a knock out, fashionista vibe.

Another type of long dress that is similar to the casual long dress is the maxi dress. A maxi dress goes all of the way to the ground and they are available in hundreds of different designs, such as tartan, stripes, polka dots, floral patterns and solid colors. A true maxi dress generally has stretchy fabric around the midsection, and can easily be worn by pregnant women, without looking like you are covered in a maternity dress.

A plus of the long dress is that it makes any body shape appear taller and thinner. With the large amount of draping material, the full length dress creates a visual where your eye follows the fabric from the floor to your shoulders, giving off the appearance that you stretch for days!

So if you are shopping for a long dress, you have numerous styles to choose from. Whether you are draped in a fancy garment that has a puffy, flared skirt or a skin tight, slinky fit, long dresses are pure feminine fabulousness!

Both the front and the back of the dress is fabric flowing, eye candy delight!

From sassy, sexy elegance to pretty, perfect splendor, long dresses are stylish, fashionable garments that are appropriate to wear for a myriad of occasions!

I simply adore these two long dresses:

Completely different styles and looks, but they both shout “Wow!”

So wow them in your long dresses, where the material hangs from your hair to your heels.

You’ll be the belle of the ball, the princess at the party or the babe on the beach!

I confess: This glamour girl gives an “A+” to the long dress!
