Neon colors are bright, bold, dynamic, dramatic and downright fun. When neon colors are added to your wardrobe and decorate your stylish self, the results are fashion festivity!

Neon is a chemical element with symbol Ne and atomic number 10. Neon gas is a colorless, odorless, inert monatomic gas under standard conditions, with about 2/3s the density of air.  Although neon is a colorless gas, it exhibits an orange-red glow when placed in high voltage.

Due to the electrifying brightness of neon colors, neon based clothing stands out like no other.

Neon Fun Fact: Neon was discovered in 1898 (along with krypton and xenon) as one of the three residual rare inert elements remaining in dry air, after nitrogen, oxygen, argon and carbon dioxide were removed. Neon was the second of these rare gases to be discovered and was immediately recognized as a new element from its bright red emission spectrum.

The name “neon” is derived from the Greek word ‘veov’ (neos) meaning new. The compounds of neon include iconic molecules, molecules held together by van der Waals forces and clathrates.

Neon Fun Fact: Neon is often used in signs and produces an unmistakable bright reddish-orange light. Although tube lights with other colors are often called “neon”, they are different noble gases or varied colors of fluorescent lighting.

Neon Shoe Tip: If you plan on stalking someone or sneaking up on them, make sure you wear dark colored shoes. Neon shoes will light you up like a spot light, even in the pitch black of night. Wear dark shoes to pull your heist off right!

Neon Fun Fact: Neon is abundant on a universal scale. Neon is the fifth most abundant chemical element in the universe by mass, after hydrogen, helium, oxygen and carbon. Neon’s relative rarity on Earth is due to its relative lightness, high vapor pressure at very low temperatures, and chemical inertness, all properties which tend to keep neon from being trapped in the condensing gas and dust clouds that formed the smaller and warmer planets like Earth.

Neon gas may not be overflowing on Earth, but colorful, whimsical, rainbow neon clothing overflows in the fashion world…always a popular garment choice creating a fashion bang!
