Color brings life to the world. The leaves of trees that turn from green to gold and orange, a rainbow after a storm, neon lights shining bright at a carnival, and makeup to add color and sunshine to our gorgeous faces.
Color does help the world to be a brighter, nicer, more beautiful place!
Now, back to the face. For a change of pace that is fun, fashionable and fearless, why not paint your eyelashes with bright, bold, vivid color? How, you ask? Simple…apply colored mascara.
Mascara is a cosmetic commonly used to enhance the eyes. Mascara may darken, thicken, lengthen and/or define the eyelashes. Most mascaras contain the components of pigments, oils, waxes and preservatives. Mascara comes in three forms: liquid, cake and cream.
Eyelashes are hairs that grow at the edge of the upper and lower eyelid. Eyelashes protect the eye from debris and perform some of the same functions as whiskers do on a cat or mouse in the sense that they are sensitive to being touched, thus providing a warning that an object is near the eye.
Eye, eye, eye! Dress up the eyes with a cool collection of colored mascara.
Mascara Fashion Tip: On a normal, day to day routine, I tend to prefer dark black mascara…the darker and thicker the lashes, the better. Add black eyeliner for fabulous definition and mesmerizing eyes. However, sometimes it is fun to rock the boat, or bat an eyelash, and doll up your eyes to amazing proportions. How? With wonderful, vivacious colored mascara!
Mascara can be defined as “a cosmetic substance for darkening, lengthening, curling, coloring and thickening the eyelashes, applied with a brush or rod.” Note: mascara can be used on the eyebrows as well, to add depth, thickness and shape to the brow.
Go bold and brash with a colored lash!
Fashion Tips for Wearing Colored Mascara:
- Match the color of mascara to your natural eye color.
- Let the color of mascara match and/or highlight your selected shades of eye shadows.
- Wear one color of mascara on your upper lashes and another color of mascara on the lower lashes.
- Wear various colors of mascara across the upper and lower lashes.
- Match the color of mascara to your outfit of the day.
So many ways to play the day away experimenting with colored mascara!
Eyelash Fun Fact: Eyelashes take about seven to eight weeks to grow back if pulled out, but constant pulling may lead to permanent damage. Natural eyelash color may differ from that of your hair, but tend to be darker on those with medium to dark skin, and lighter on those with fair complexions.
Love the eyelashes and the skin you’re in! Beauty is fun to glam up with on the outside, and really radiates when it comes from within!
Eyelash Fun Fact: The follicles of the eyelashes are associated with a number of glands known as the glands of Zeis and the glands of Moll. On embryos, the eyelashes develop from the ectoderm between the 22nd and 26th week of pregnancy.
Mascara Fun Fact: Aesthetic adornment is a cultural universal practice, and mascara can be documented in ancient Egypt. Records from around 4000 BC refer to a substance called kohl that was used to darken eyelashes, eyes and eyebrows. During the Victorian era, women were known to spend a majority of their day occupied with beauty regimens, one being a great effort to create the illusion of long, dark eyelashes.
Rock the day and night away the cool, chic, colored mascara way!
Long eyelashes are considered a sign of beauty if many cultures. In addition to lengthening the lashes with mascara, some women enhance their eyelash length artificially, using eyelash extensions. Permanent eyelash tints and extensions have also become popular procedures in basic salons. It is also possible to get eyelash transplants, which are similar in nature to hair transplants done on the head.
Mascara, in all glorious colors, pulls the eyelash from the rim of the eye, creating a doe-like illusion of larger, more open eyes.
Be a wonderful wide-eyed wonder when your eyelashes are decorated with colorful, magnificent mascaras!
Two, four, six, eight. What does a makeup lover appreciate? Charming colored mascara!
“I’ve never seen such long, lovely, yellow eyelashes before.”
“If you had seen me yesterday it was baby blue eyelashes that I wore.”
“Do you change your color of lashes depending on how your day goes?”
“That is actually a clever idea but I match my lash colors to my clothes.”
“Your eyes are beautiful indeed…they sparkle, shimmer and shine.”
“And when I highlight them with colored mascara the results are truly divine!”
See the world through spectacular lashes…colors for individual divas and colors for the fashion masses!
