SUN DRESSES: THE LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT! ALWAYS A HIT!

Sun dresses are light, airy, beautiful, fun dresses! For a cool, comfortable garment that can still look dressy and elegant, the sun dress is a sure to win bet!

A dress is a frock or gown garment consisting of a skirt with an attached bodice (or a matching bodice that gives the effect of a one piece garment). A dress consists of a top piece that covers the torso and hangs down over the legs. A dress can be any one piece garment or skirt of any length.

During the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, sun dresses doll up and cool down all fashion divas.

Sun dresses look great at any length, from short to knee to calf to the ankles. Also, necklines of sun dresses vary any where from strapless, to halter, to spaghetti straps!

Sun Fun Fact: Most people view sunny summer days as days to go out and have fun. Perhaps a visit to the beach, a river vacation, or merely a barbeque in the backyard. But did you know the sun is the star at the center of the Solar System? The sun is a nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma, with internal connective motion that generates a magnetic field via a dynamo process. The sun is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. The sun’s diameter is about 109 times that of the Earth, and its mass is about 330,000 times that of Earth, accounting for roughly 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System.

Pretty amazing, that sun! In my estimation, a sunny day is always a great one!

Sun dresses can be made to look completely casual, or accessorized to look almost formal. Great events to wear sun dresses are baby showers, birthday parties, lunch or dinner events, beachwear or just plain anywhere!

Dress Fun Fact: Beginning around 1915, hemlines for daytime dresses left the floor for good. For the next fifty years fashionable dresses became short (think the 1920s), then long (1930s), then shorter (the War Years with their restrictions of fabric), then long (the New Look).

Today, any dress length goes, from just below the buttocks to the hemline flowing over your toes!

Okay, this blue tasseled dress below isn’t categorized as a sun dress, but I had to show this dress as it is gorgeous/adorable all rolled into one! I would love to own this dress and just may try to find me one! Beautiful!

Now, back to dresses made to wear in the sizzling sun!

Sun Fun Fact: The English proper name ‘sun’ developed from Old English ‘sunne’ and may be related to ‘south’. The English weekday name ‘Sunday’ stems from Old English and is ultimately a result of Germanic interpretation of Latin ‘dies solis’, a translation of the Greek “hemera heliou’. The Latin name for sun (Sol) isn’t common in the general English language, however the adjectival form is the related word ‘solar’.

Display your solar power and fashion power when dressed in an airy, elegant sun dress, hour by hour!

Sun Fun Fact: For most people, the sun’s rays feels luxurious on the skin. Think sun worshipers who love to tan or lay out on the beach sand and soak up the sun. Solar deities and sun worship can be found throughout most of recorded history in various forms, including the Egyptian Ra, the Hindu Surya, the Japanese Amaterasu, the Germanic Sol, and the Aztec Tonatiuh, among others.

From at least the 4th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, the sun was worshipped as the god Ra, portrayed as a falcon-headed divinity surmounted by the solar disk, and surrounded by a serpent.

Enjoy the sand and the surf by stepping out in a sensual, sassy sun dress and rule the fashion turf!

Sun Dress Fashion Tip: Sun dresses are a garment that radiate joy and look fun and youthful on any woman! Beautiful, breezy, whimsical fashion! Whatever your style, whatever your passion!

Sun Dresses: The long and short of it! Always a hit!

If you wake up in the morning and Mr. Sun is shining bright, slip into a pretty, dainty, comfy sun dress for a look and feel that’s right! You will be a radiant sight!

“I’m attending the opening of a great deli bistro and need to find something to wear.”

“Since the weather is a pleasant 80 degrees, how about a sun dress and a flower in your hair?”

“That’s a perfect idea. I won’t be overdressed but I’ll look dainty and demure.”

“The best dressed person at the party. A real looker for sure.”

“You don’t think I’ll look too dressy for a sandwich shop place?”

“Why do you care? All true fashion divas dress to fit their own taste!”

Sun Dresses: A standard summer attire for all girls and women!
