WHY OUR PHEROMONES ARE PLEASED BY PERFUMES!

Whether you’re a woman who lovers her Estee Lauder “Beautiful” perfume, or a man who prefers a deep scented musk cologne, chances are that you have a favorite fragrance, or a preference for a particular perfume designer. Sales figures from perfume companies are in the billions, and even celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Jennifer Lopez have their own perfume lines.

Blame it on our pheromones! A pheromone is a chemical substance produced and released into the environment by humans and animals, affecting the behavior or physiology of others. The nose knows…our sense of smell is one of the strongest factors in our attraction or unattraction to an object or person. The more pleasant and yummy the scent, the more we desire to sniff away, which is why heavenly scented perfumes are here to stay!

Perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils or aroma compounds and solvents used to give the human body an agreeable, appealing scent. Perfumes are generally in a liquid form, although rub-on cream based perfumes are available on the market. Modern perfume began in the late 19th century with the commercial synthesis of aroma compounds such as vanillin or coumarin, which allowed for the composition of perfumes with smells previously unattainable from natural aromas alone.

Pheromone Facts that Keep Us Pining Away for our Favorite Perfumes:

  1. Pheromones are similar to hormones but work outside the body.
  2. Pheromones induce activity in other individuals, such as sexual arousal.
  3. There are four types of pheromones: releaser, primer, signaler and modulator.

The public’s fascination with perfumes and colognes is intrinsic and well known! It’s all about our pheromones!

Famous Perfume Designers Include:

  1. Chanel
  2. Calvin Klein
  3. Chloe
  4. Dolce & Gabbana
  5. Gucci
  6. Prada
  7. Versace
  8. Hermes
  9. Yves Saint Laurent
  10. Burberry
  11. Tom Ford
  12. Marc Jacobs
  13. Emporio Armani
  14. And Many More!

With so many famous perfume designers and makeup houses (think Estee Lauder, L’OrĂ©al, Revlon, etc.) who have jumped on the aroma bandwagon, there is no denying that we adore our perfumes and colognes! Always a great and worthwhile beauty bargain!

Perfume Fun Fact: The word perfume derives from the Latin ‘perfumare’ meaning “to smoke through.” Perfumery, the art of making perfumes, began in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, and was further refined by the Romans and Persians. The world’s first recorded chemist is considered a woman named Tapputi, a perfume maker mentioned in a cuneiform tablet from the 2nd millennium BC in Mesopotamia. Tapputi distilled flowers, oil and calamus with other aromatics, then filtered them and put them back in the still several times.  Wahlah, perfume perfection!

Whether you adore the smell of fresh flowers, vanilla, fruits, spices or musk, step out with a splash of your favorite perfume and smell glorious from dawn to dusk!

How do you clench and lock in your first date, ensuring a second date is guaranteed on your plate? Hook them with your perfume. You’ll not only smell marvelous for your date, but you’ll get the attention from all who are in the room!

Perfume Dilution Classes: (The Concentration of Aromatic Compounds in a Solvent)

  1. Parfum or Extrait – 15-40%
  2. Espirit de Parfum – 15-30%
  3. Eau De Parfum – 10-20%
  4. Parfum De Toilette – 15%
  5. Eau De Toilette – 5-15%
  6. Eau De Cologne – 3-8%

In addition to these widely seen perfume concentrations, companies have marketed a variety of perfumed products under the name of splashes, mists and veils. Generally these products contain approximately 3% aromatic compounds.

Why our pheromones are pleased by perfumes!

For scents that are sexy, sensual, misty, playful and heighten your senses, when you stand near someone who smells of beautiful perfume, you’ll want to stay in their direction!

“Sir, you’re standing a bit to close to me. Please step out of my personal space.”

“You’re simply irresistible. Your heavenly scent and your gorgeous face.”

“You can appreciate the view and still enjoy my aroma from a few feet back.”

“If you were anymore appealing you’d cause my heart attack.”

“This delightful perfume I wear is sometimes a bother. Too many people are attracted to me.”

“I’d say you have found the perfect scent that suits you. I would simply let it be!”

Perfume: To ensure people follow you, sprinkling yourself in irresistible aromas is the thing to do! To keep a crowd away, don’t spray any perfume for a day! You’re glorious either way!
