Nancy Mangano is a lifelong style/fashion enthusiast. In her words, “I was born this way. Style and fashion is in my blood. You truly can’t take it out of me.” By the age of 20, she had signed with a Newport Beach, California modeling agency, and with a complete portfolio, she drove from Orange County to Hollywood, California, where she met with numerous modeling agents for fashion print work. “With my trendy picture portfolio in my hand, a stylish, fashion forward outfit on my body and a smile on my face, I would sell my fashion loving self, where I got sent on many “go sees” and landed print modeling work.”

Mangano attended Santa Ana Junior College, where she received an Associate in Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. During this time she worked at the Orange County Sheriff – Coroner Department. She transferred to California State University, Fullerton where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications/Broadcast Journalism & Radio/TV/Film. With passions in fashion, writing and detective work, Mangano interned at KCBS-TV with then investigative reporter Harvey Levin (currently of TMZ), KTLA and KNBC-TV. Mangano then worked at NBC-TV, Burbank for two years as a full-time employee, assisting in the KNBC newsroom and working in the NBC Corporate Media Events department.

According to Mangano, while she was working at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, she decided that it would be “much more fun to play an investigator on TV as opposed to being one in real life”, and consequently changed her major to Communications.

Mangano has always enjoyed fashion and writing. In addition to her modeling work, she has appeared in three feature films, Body Shot (1994), Speechless (1994) and Bug Buster (1998) and one Made for Television Movie, A Perry Mason Mystery: The Case of the Jealous Jokester (1995). Growing up, she wrote many stories, even making “About the Author” pages.

Mangano has blended her innate fashion flair and her love of writing. She is the author of three riveting Natalie North murder mysteries, A Passion for Prying, Murder Can Be Messy and Deadly Decisions – A Natalie North Novel.  The sequel novels star Natalie North, a twenty-nine-year-0ld Los Angeles private investigator who busts adulterous, lowlife partners, and always with a great fashion sense and a knock-out pair of high heels! She has also written two feature film screenplays, Pretties on the Prowl (comedy) and Fatal Forgiveness (drama).

Today, she blends her passion for fashion, style and beauty and her love of detective work into her writing!

“I love fashion, makeup, writing, laughing and all things fun!” Mangano says.
